About i

If you are curious to learn a bit more about me you are in the right place.

Academically I achieved the following :

  • Computer Studies Diploma in the Higher Technical Institute in Cyprus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (BSc with Honors, 2.1 degree) at the University of Kent (Canterbury), UK
  • Master’s degree in Information Security and Biometrics (MSc, graduated with distinction and one published paper)  at the University of Kent (Canterbury), UK

Professionally I worked part time during my studies and full time after graduating.  I have worked in both I.T. and non I.T. related jobs.  Some of my experiences include:

  • During my studies in Cyprus working  in organizations such as the Electricity Authority of Cyprus, the Cyprus Tourism Organization, the Kent I.T. Clinic (part of the University of Kent, U.K.) and work as a freelancer.
  • During my career i have worked at Sophos (antimalware company) as a malware analyst, at FBME (bank) as an information security administrator, at the Cyprus Agricultural Payments Organization as an I.T. officer, at Gnosysoft (a small I.T. company) as an I.T. and operations manager and last but not least freelancing.
  • I had a very interesting 2011 summer where i worked as an operations manager/logistics director assistant/do anything else needed during a Canadian army project in Cyprus.  The army was moving its troops and vehicles back to Canada via Cyprus.  I got to meet a lot of interesting and fascinating people with a lot of stories to tell, got to get inside some very very big planes, and got to learn a lot about big projects such as this, government politics surrounding them and even saw first hand how some stupid politicians in Cyprus would gladly take away jobs of 100s of people just so they could pretend to be saving the country on tv!!
  • Other non I.T. jobs include part time cleaner, plumber assistant et cetera.

I also get involved in a variety of social and community activities and offer my services free of charge for anything in that scope.  So if you are working for a non profit organization or group and are looking for free I.T. consulting or advice just get in touch with me (leave a comment here with your email and i will contact you).  I am also interested in working free of charge on any project that i might find interesting (I.T. related, or not).

I am currently doing a bit of freelancing and trying to figure out what my next step will be.
